Tonk is developing an interoperable, private network of datastores, to service the fragmentation of state resulting from the proliferation of billions of cheap, niche, personal apps and workflows built with AI.

To nontechnical people, we describe it as an easy way to build your own little internet.

Building that network requires (among other things) frontier cryptography. Key management is the hardest part of cryptography, so Goblin Oats, Tonk’s CTO, wrote up a survey of approaches here.
